Liquid Gold Therapy in Melbourne is one of the procedure done at My Natural Look Clinic In Melbourne
What does Liquid Gold Therapy Involve?
Liquid Gold Therapy injection treatment is a quick and easy process.
1. A blood sample is collected in 1 – 2 specially designed tubes.
2. The tubes are then centrifuged for 5 minutes. During centrifugation, a patented gel within the tubes isolates liquid gold from other cells within the blood.
3. Ready-to-use liquid gold is drawn up into a syringe and is now ready for application.
The entire liquid gold procedure takes around 45 to 60 minutes. The longest part of the treatment is the spinning and separation of the blood in the centrifuge while the injecting process itself is performed in as quickly as 15 minutes.
How quickly does it work?
After the first treatment of liquid gold, the platelets will stimulate the growth factors which will assist with collagen growth, elastin and blood supply to the treated area, over the next few weeks. It will then continue to improve over the next few months.
How many sessions do I need?
This will depend on your individual situation. Discuss your treatment plan with your medical practitioner.
Are there side effects?
Liquid Gold treatment is generally well tolerated. The most common side effects include: local irritation/redness and mild to moderate swelling. Consult your medical practitioner if you have any questions or concerns.
What are the side effects?
Although uncommon, the side effects include those signs/symptoms associated with an injection including: pain, infection, worsening of symptoms, blood clot, nerve injury, skin discoloration, calcification, scarring, loss of fat to the affected area, and allergic reaction.
How do I prepare for Liquid Gold Treatment?
An MRI and/or musculoskeletal ultrasound may be done prior to the Liquid Gold injection to ensure a proper diagnosis and to rule out any other conditions.
Initially, the procedure may cause some localised soreness and discomfort. It is recommended that you arrange for someone to drive you home after the procedure. You may apply elevation as needed. Depending on your condition, between one to three sessions may be required. Discuss your treatment plan with your medical practitioner.
This treatment is not a “quick fix”. The healing process of Liquid Gold requires time and rehabilitation. Patients who follow a rehab course of physical therapy are likely to see the most improvement in the affected area. Through regular follow-up visits, your medical practitioner will determine when you are able to resume regular physical activities.
Pre-treatment Guide
During an initial consultation with our Doctor we’ll establish your suitability for the procedure and determine if Liquid Gold therapy will be the best treatment option for your specific skin concerns. Before the session: 48 hours leading up to the procedure, you should drink plenty of fluids to keep yourself well-hydrated. Water is strongly recommendedOne week prior to treatment, avoid other facial treatments that sensitise the skin. One to two weeks prior to the treatment, reduce your fat intake. Two to three weeks prior to treatment, stop all omegas, green teas and other supplements that increase bruising.Reduce your alcohol and caffeine intake.
Post-treatment Guide
After a Liquid Gold treatment: Do not touch your face for at least 4 hours to allow the injection sites to heal.Wash your hands before touching injected areas to avoid introducing external infection. Use a gentle pH neutral skincare recommended by our medical doctor for the following 72 hours.Do not wear make up for 24 hours. Avoid using oil-based products, heavy cosmetics and thick moisturisers for at least two days.Do not undergo any other facial treatments for at least two weeks. Avoid sun exposure and use at least an SPF30+ sunscreen every day. The treated area will feel tender for up to two weeks post-treatment. Avoid rigorous exercise, saunas, hot baths and excessive amounts of alcohol, as these will exacerbate swelling and increase the possibility of bruising. Bruising may be reduced by the use of Arnica tablets and Bromelin extract, along with massaging Hirudoid cream into the area. Do not ice the area or have hot showers (platelets do not like extremes of temperatures). Sleep with the treated area elevated by propping yourself up with multiple pillows.
